George K. Chamberlin, P. Eng.

Procyon Designs evolved over a period of about 40 years. As a young man, George Chamberlin,  owner and operator of Procyon Designs, had a keen interest in woodworking. George always had a woodworking shop in the basement or the garage wherever he and his family were living. Working in the shop in the evening or on weekends was enjoyable and seemed to relieve all the stress of the day job.

For twenty years, George held positions such as Plant Manager and Facilities Manager with four large companies located in Canada and the United States. Manufactured products ranged from HVAC controls to water pumps to complex electro-mechanical control systems. It is this experience that has allowed George to setup and operate a manufacturing facility that is efficient and safe and in compliance with provincial regulations regarding health and safety procedures in industrial establishments.

In 1991, George left manufacturing to start a new company called Procyon Consulting Inc providing advice and guidance to a broad range of industrial and commercial establishments regarding environmental issues. George and his staff at Procyon guided organizations to compliance with environmental regulations and trained personnel in techniques to find innovative solutions to problems. This experience has helped lay the foundation for creating Procyon Designs where innovation and problem solving is key to the ultimate satisfaction of our customers.

George is now a retired Professional Engineer and Certified Engineering Technologist with close to 45 years of industrial business experience and 40 years of experience in woodworking. George thoroughly enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with anyone with similar interests.
